Milestone Home - Parade of Homes

The Milestone Home was renovated through the generosity of community partners. The purpose of this project is to raise awareness of the unique partnership that supports youth experiencing homelessness in our community. Good Shepherd Lutheran Church has partnered with the Milestone Program for over a decade. Since 2012, this partnership has helped over 350 young adults learn the skills needed to become self-sufficient.


In 2025, the Milestone program served and successfully transitioned (defined as stably housed and employed or in school up exit) 30 young adults with an 97% success rate. This program saves lives.

The vision of Salt Lake Parade of Home projects has been to bring in new partnerships to help create a safe, productive, and inviting space for young adults in the Milestone Transitional Living Program. These homes provide young adults with the opportunity to live and learn the life skills (cooking, cleaning, hygiene, etc.,) they need to be self-sufficient.

This has been accomplished through a remodel of the interior and exterior spaces. The interiors includes an open concept kitchen that will be used by the young adults on a daily basis. The house manager uses the kitchen and dining room to run cooking group and teach life skills. The new outdoor spaces are inviting and conservation friendly, including water-wise plants.
