Safe Place Program
If you need a Safe Place please call 385-468-4500.
Youth Services manages the nationwide program called Safe Place in Utah, which is dedicated to helping youth in trouble with a safe place to go for help and/or shelter.
More than 80 Safe Place sites are spread throughout Salt Lake County in public places such as libraries, fire stations and recreation centers. Locations can be spotted by the yellow Safe Place sign on the building or in the window. Employees at Safe Place sites are trained to call Youth Services if a youth is asking for help. A Youth Services employee will speak with the youth on the phone and if desired transport the youth to our facilities.
Any youth can access this help either by going to a Safe Place site or coming directly to the Youth Services Juvenile Receiving Center:
- 177 W Price Ave. (3610 S.) in South Salt Lake, open 24/7
- 8781 S. Redwood Rd. Bldg. #3 in West Jordan, open 8am-8pm, M-F
You can also text SAFE and their location to 4HELP or 44357.
Youth Services offers presentations on Safe Place to youth groups, schools and community organizations. For more information about Safe Place or to schedule a presentation.
