Salt Lake County uses grant money from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to assess environmental contamination on properties within the County.

Types of Assessments Covered:

  • Phase I Environmental Assessment
  • Phase II Environmental Assessment
  • Cleanup Plan or Analysis of Brownfields Clean-up Alternatives (ABCA)
  • Asbestos, Lead, and Hazardous Materials Inspection Report

Document Repository

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) funds Salt Lake County's Assessment Grant, and the County maintains a public documents repository as a condition of that EPA funding. 

The information in the repository is available for public review and access during regular business hours. To arrange access, or to request a specific document, please contact Rachel Boyett Shaw.

Some examples of relevant documentation include:

  • Site eligibility determination;
  • Phase I and II assessment reports;
  • An Analysis of Brownfields Cleanup Alternatives (ABCA) or its equivalent;
  • Sampling and Analysis Plan (SAP);
  • Hazardous Materials Inspection Report;
  • Brownfields Assessment Grant Advisory Committee Board Minutes
