Property Watch FAQ

Title fraud happens when someone illegally changes the ownership of your property without your permission. This can occur if someone forges your name on property documents or uses fake information to make it seem like they own your home. While cases of title fraud are rare, it's still important to protect your property investments.

Staying informed through Property Watch adds a crucial layer of defense to your home. With early warning, you can act quickly if there is suspicious activity. If you receive a notification from the Recorder's Office, you can contact the authorities right away, which might stop the fraud before it causes serious problems.

The email will come from propertywatch@slco.org and will include the Parcel Number, the recorded Entry Number, the Document Type and the Recorded Date.
