Youth Hockey is a recreational level hockey program for boys and girls ages 6-14, operated at all three different Salt Lake County ice facilities. The program promotes the ideals of fair play, sportsmanship, cooperation, teamwork, and physical fitness. Fun is the primary goal of the program, while also encouraging skill development of all players.
Learn to Play is an instructional level youth hockey program, designed to give kids ages 5-14 the necessary skills needed to eventually play in the Salt Lake County Youth Hockey League program. Participation in the Learn to Play program is generally required prior to entering the Salt Lake County Youth Hockey League program.
Each Salt Lake County ice facility runs its own Learn to Play program. The program schedule and pricing structure vary from one facility to the next. Please visit one of the ice center sites below, or contact their hockey program coordinator for more information:
Basic ice skating skills are required for participation in this program. All beginning level skaters should attend at least one semester of the Learn to Skate program before signing up for Learn to Play Hockey.
