Ribbon Cutting for Featherstone Boarding Home: A New Resource for Mental Health & Housing Support
Salt Lake County, UT– Salt Lake County leaders, the Utah Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS), mental health advocates, and community partners will celebrate the grand opening of Clinical Consultants Featherstone Boarding Home, a 30-unit residence for individuals with severe mental illness. This new facility provides intensive, on-site support and is part of the county’s Five-Year Human Services, Homelessness, and Criminal Justice Action Plan. Featherstone has been a partnership between the state of Utah, DHHS, and the County.

WHY: Salt Lake County estimates at least 300 people experiencing homelessness in the county need intensive mental health care and housing. Featherstone ensures 30 of them receive the stability and services they need and will have capacity to serve 40 in the coming years—bringing the county one step closer to addressing this urgent need.
