New Roots of Utah

New Roots seeks to build a healthier community through the development of small scale, urban farms and community gardens while increasing food access for refugees in Salt Lake City.

Salt Lake County’s Office of Community Innovation (now the Office for New Americans and Refugees) was instrumental in providing vision, leadership and investment in the creation of New Roots. Salt Lake County continues to play a supporting role to our partner the IRC in the implementation of the program.
