Audit Recommendations Dashboard

In the Salt Lake County Auditor’s Office, we believe public trust starts with transparency. This dashboard is designed to show how our audit work drives change—by tracking how county agencies respond to our recommendations. It’s a tool for the public, for policymakers, and for agency leaders to see where progress is happening and where more work is needed. Our goal is simple: stronger oversight, better performance, and lasting improvements across county government.

Understanding the Dashboard

We use five categories to describe the status of each recommendation:

  • Fully implemented – The agency has taken all necessary steps to meet the recommendation and reduce the original risk.
  • Partially implemented – Some progress has been made, but more action is needed to fully address the issue.
  • Not implemented – The agency hasn’t taken meaningful action, and the risk identified in the audit still exists.
  • Not evaluated – We haven’t yet followed up to assess the agency’s progress.
  • Did not agree to implement – The agency declined to take action when the recommendation was issued, so the concern likely remains unaddressed.

Each recommendation includes whether the agency agreed or disagreed with it at the time of the audit. Agencies may also provide a written explanation of their decision or progress.

The acceptance rate shows the percentage of recommendations that agencies agreed to implement out of all recommendations made. It's a simple measure of how often agencies commit to taking corrective action based on our audits.
