Salt Lake County Aging & Adult Services does not provide direct financial assistance or housing vouchers. If you are seeking these services, contact the following resources:

  • Housing Connect helps with housing and voucher options.
  • Utah Community Action helps with rent and deposit assistance, COVID-19 rental assistance, landlord-tenant mediation, housing locator services, and homeless services.
  • Visit 211.org or calll 2-1-1 to be connected with services and assistance.
  • Please also reach out to the local housing authorities for assistance:
    • Salt Lake City Housing Authority
    • West Valley City Housing Authority
    • Salt Lake County Housing Authority

Resources

Moderate cost housing for people over the age of 55 is available throughout Salt Lake County. Rent varies from building to building and can change over time based on several factors.

  • Call the buildings that interest you and inquire ask about rent, fees, utilities, and other monthly costs before you apply. Some housing options can be found in the 55+ Book under the heading “Moderate Cost Projects.” Most of these listings are reserved for people 55 and older.
  • Utah Community Action is an organization that helps individuals and families apply for and attain affordable housing.

If you are 62 years of age or older, you may qualify for Subsidized Senior Housing. Subsidized Senior Housing rent is 30% of your income.
