The Giving Tree

Every year, Aging & Adult Services partners with the community to bring holiday cheer to homebound older adults.

AAS teams gather holiday gift requests from the our most vulnerable clients and pass them on to caring donors by way of the Giving Tree - a holiday tree located at the Salt Lake County Government Center's South Building Atrium (2001 S. State Street). Donors can pick a name off the tree, shop for the requested gifts, and return them to us to be given to the gift recipient. Case workers deliver them to homebound seniors, the majority of whom wouldn't receive a holiday gift without our donors' generosity.

AARP Utah is a longstanding partner of The Giving Tree. They provide a generous donation of basic needs items or household necessities to supplement donor gifts each year.

Participate in The Giving Tree

  1. Visit The Giving Tree at the Salt Lake County Government Center between November 18th and December 12th and take a tag with the name of the older adult who will receive your gift.
  2. Follow the instructions on the tag that describe what to purchase and how to return your gift.
  3. Return the tag and unwrapped gift (in a gift bag) to Aging & Adult Services by December 12th, 2024.
