Spots are going fast! Clark Planetarium's Summer Space Academy is your child's launchpad to an unforgettable summer. These full- and half-day camps run from June through August and are packed with hands-on experiments, interactive lessons, and out-of-this-world fun.

Whether your child dreams of being an astronaut, a scientist, or just loves to explore, our camps keep kids curious, active, and learning all summer long. From space missions to science challenges, every day is a new adventure.

Clark Planetarium's Summer Space Academy - Camps through June until August:

Voyage Through the Solar System (Grades 2-3)
August 3rd - August 6th (M-Th)

Grab your space boots and get ready to blast off! In this 4-day adventure, you'll journey with the Voyager space probe to discover the amazing worlds in our solar system. Campers will explore our Sun, planets, asteroids, and comets through science demonstrations, art projects, and shows! In this fun-filled voyage, you'll learn what it takes to lead the future of space exploration throughout our solar system and beyond.

Friends of Pluto (Grades 2-3)

Calling all Pluto fans! If you've ever felt sad that Pluto was reclassified from a planet to a dwarf planet, this camp is for you. In this single-day adventure, campers will celebrate everything that makes dwarf planets special. Through hands-on activities about Pluto's icy surface to creative projects about its tiny moons, you'll discover why Pluto still captures the hearts of people everywhere.

Future Scientists Camp (Grades K-1)
Partner camp with Discovery Gateway Children's Museum

Blast off into a week of discovery! Future Scientists introduces young campers to the amazing world of science through hands-on exploration, playful experiments, and movement-based activities designed just for early learners. From digging into Geology and bubbling through Chemistry, to discovering Biology, blasting into Astronomy, and zooming through Physics, each day is packed with exciting exploration. In partnership with Clark Planetarium, campers will split their day between two exciting learning spaces, spending part of the day at each museum for double the hands-on fun. This camp sparks curiosity and helps young learners see themselves as scientists.

Into the Depths (Grades 2-3)
Partner camp with Natural History Museum of Utah
July 6th - July 9th

Otherworldly explorers unite! Into the Depths invites 2nd-3rd graders on an exciting journey into the ocean's hidden world. Monday and Tuesday will be spent at the Planetarium, exploring why scientists believe some moons and planets may hide vast oceans beneath their surfaces. Campers will learn how astronauts train underwater to prepare for life in space and compare the challenges of deep-ocean exploration to traveling beyond our planet. Through interactive demonstrations, storytelling, and hands-on activities, students will begin to see how space and the ocean are connected as extreme environments. While at NHMU on Thursday and Friday, campers will travel from sunlit surface waters down into the dark, mysterious deep sea, discovering how animals survive extreme pressure, cold, and darkness. Through hands-on activities, creative projects, and light exploration, students will investigate ocean life, deep-sea adaptations, and the tools scientists use to explore places humans can't easily reach. This camp sparks curiosity and imagination while helping kids understand just how unique Earth is. Drop off and pick up will take place at Clark Planetarium on Monday and Tuesday and at NHMU on Wednesday & Thursday. No camp on Friday. (SOLD OUT)

Extreme Frontiers (Grades 4-5)
Partner camp with Natural History Museum of Utah
July 6th - July 9th
8:30 AM - 4:30 PM

Extreme Frontiers challenges 4th-5th graders to explore some of Earth's most extreme and hidden environments. Monday and Tuesday, while at NHMU, campers will investigate the ocean's depths, from sunlit surface waters to the pitch-black deep sea, analyzing how organisms survive and adapt in the intense pressure, near-freezing temperatures, and complete darkness. Through hands-on experiments, model-building, and two immersive days at NHMU, students will connect to parts of earth that very few have travelled. Wednesday and Thursday at the Planetarium, campers will expand their exploration beyond Earth by examining extreme environments throughout the solar system. Students will investigate ocean worlds such as Europa and Enceladus, compare space conditions to the deep sea, and learn why astronauts train underwater to prepare for the physical and mental challenges of spaceflight. Through simulations, experiments, and interactive activities, campers will discover how studying Earth's extremes helps scientists search for life beyond our planet. Drop off and pick up will take place on Monday & Tuesday at NHMU and at Clark Planetarium on Wednesday & Thursday. No camp on Friday.

Plants and Planets (Grades 5-6)
Partner camp with Wasatch Community Gardens
June 29th - July 2nd
9:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Calling all future astronauts: pack your enthusiasm and imagination, we're headed to space! Join us for an out of this world summer camp in partnership with Clark Planetarium this summer. Participants will spend mornings at Wasatch Community Gardens learning about photosynthesis, building solar ovens, and growing plants in planetary conditions, while afternoons will be full of immersive outer space experiences at Clark Planetarium. In addition to expert presentations and in-depth shows, participants will learn about planets beyond our Solar System, extract DNA, and investigate the role of plants in human missions to the Moon and beyond.
