Clark Planetarium offers an out-of-this-world experience, featuring three floors of free exhibits, as well as the breathtaking Hansen Dome Theatre and Northrop Grumman IMAX Theatre.

The Hansen Dome Theatre is a dome-shaped theater with a 55-foot diameter. This 360-degree immersive experience can display accurate star fields, animated films, laser shows, and can even take visitors on a trip through space.

The Northrop Grumman IMAX® Theatre has a screen that is 70 feet wide by 50 feet tall. The theatre showcases documentary films about nature and science, created by professional production teams with stunning visuals and narration.

Shark Summer Is Making a Splash!

Get ready to dive into Shark Summer at Clark Planetarium! Shark Summer is a little different from what you're used to seeing at the Planetarium, but we promise to take you from deep space to the deep seas. Get ready for jaw-dropping IMAX screenings of Shark Kingdom in 3D, explore fun shark-themed exhibits, and pick up exclusive shark merch in our gift shop.

Here's what's happening this month:

  • Shark Snacks & Drinks — Grab a shark-inspired treat or beverage at concessions.
  • Shark Merch Alert — Check out our new plush sharks, toys, and more — but hurry, they'll go fast!
  • Educational Bites — Learn about the fascinating world of sharks through interactive displays and family-friendly programming from our partners including Discovery
  • Gateway Children's' Museum, The Salt Lake County Library and the Natural History Museum of Utah.
  • Special Guest — We have a very special guest who is guaranteed to take a bite out of adventure (hint: you'll want to sink your teeth into this appearance).
